Ripe Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
In short
- There is no account. Your focus sessions, labels and settings stay on your device.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Google collects device information such as your advertising ID to serve them. Pro and passes remove ads.
- We have no server and receive nothing from the app, unless you email us a problem report yourself.
- Purchases are handled by Google Play. We never see your payment details.
1. Who we are
Ripe: Focus Timer (“Ripe”, package dev.zeroglabs.ripe) is made by ZeroGLabs (“we”). This policy explains what information the app handles and what this website collects. Questions: zeroglabs.dev@gmail.com.
2. What the app stores on your device
- Your focus history: start time, date, length, label and whether the session was completed. Breaks are not recorded.
- Your settings, labels, label goals and presets.
- The state of the running timer, so it rings on time even if the app is closed.
- Your points, passes and whether you own Pro.
- A small diagnostic log of event names, times, states, setting values and result codes. It does not include labels or other text you type, your advertising ID or location, and it leaves the device only in a problem report you send yourself.
This data stays in the app’s private storage. It is excluded from Android cloud backups and device-to-device transfer, so uninstalling the app deletes it. We have no server and do not receive it.
Data leaves your device only when you choose to: CSV export (Pro) saves a file to a location you pick, and Share as image sends a picture through the Android share sheet. Labels are shown on the image only if you turn that on.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of Ripe shows banner ads on the home, stats and settings screens and optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob. Ads are served by Google LLC. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK sends the following from your device to Google:
- Your advertising ID (Android advertising ID) and app-scoped identifiers
- Your IP address and an approximate location derived from it
- Ad interactions, such as ad views and taps
- Device and app information, such as device type, operating system, language and app version
- Diagnostics about errors and performance of the ad SDK
We do not receive or store this information ourselves. Google’s use of it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and How Google uses cookies in advertising. With Pro, the app shows no ads and does not load them.
4. Rewarded ads
Rewarded ads play only when you tap to watch one, never from the timer screen. Each ad watched to the end earns 1 point, up to 5 a day. 3 points buy a 1-day pass and 7 points a 3-day pass; during a pass there are no ads and Pro features are on. Points can’t be bought or cashed out.
5. Ad consent and opting out of personalized ads
In regions that require consent, such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google’s consent form (User Messaging Platform) appears on first launch, and ads are personalized or non-personalized depending on your choice. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › About › Ad privacy choices (shown where consent is required and on the free version).
- Anywhere: delete or reset your advertising ID in Android Settings > Privacy (or Google) > Ads to stop receiving personalized ads.
- Information is transferred to and processed by Google LLC in the United States to provide ads, and kept according to Google’s policies.
6. Purchases
Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Google Play. Ripe talks to the Google Play Store app on your device to start a purchase and to check whether you own Pro, then stores that result on your phone. We do not receive your payment details. Google’s handling of purchases is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
7. Problem reports
If you tap Settings › About › Report a problem, the app opens your own email app with a draft to us. It contains the app version, your Android version, device maker and model, and the diagnostic log described above as an attached text file. You can review it, and nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself. We use it only to answer you and fix problems, and delete it when it is no longer needed.
8. Permissions
- Alarms (exact alarms): to end each phase on time with the screen off.
- Notifications (including Live Updates on Android 16): to show the running timer and its controls and to tell you when a phase ends.
- Run at startup: to set the alarm again after a restart, an update or a time zone change.
- Vibration: for vibration alerts.
- Internet and network state: to load ads and the consent form.
- Advertising ID (and Android’s ad services): used by Google AdMob for ads.
- Google Play billing: to buy and restore Pro.
- Wake lock and foreground service: added by a library used by the ad SDK.
The flash alert only turns the camera flash on and off. Ripe has no camera permission and never takes pictures. It does not use your location, microphone or contacts.
9. Children
Ripe is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. This website
This website (zeroglabs.dev) is separate from the app. It uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, the site that referred you, your approximate location (derived from your IP address), your device and browser type, and your language. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.
- Ad personalization and Google signals are turned off for this site.
- For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics cookies are off by default. Google may still receive cookieless measurement requests.
- Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.
- You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
- Learn more: How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the service. The website does not show ads.
11. Your choices
You can change your ad consent in the app, reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings, remove ads with Pro or a pass, and delete all app data by uninstalling. If you sent us a problem report and want it deleted, email us.
12. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
